One of my favorite things to do when I get home from work is play with Claire. (Can you blame me?) Last night, when I got home, she was wide awake and ready to play. I put down her favorite play mat, got out her Apple Chime Toy and rolled Claire onto her side so that we could practice reaching.
Claire's reaching is pretty rudimentary. She tries really hard, but her brain has to make a lot of connections in order for her to reach, so it can be quite difficult for her.
As she was lying on her side, she kept trying and trying to reach for the toy. She would swing her top arm up and over, but she couldn't quite touch it. So what did Claire do? She started moving her legs, trying to get the momentum needed to propel herself over and closer to her toy.
Granted, this isn't much - it's something that most little babies do naturally - but for Claire, it was something more. Something more than she has done in the past. Subtle, yes, but it made this momma so very proud.
LOVE THIS! Yay Claire!!! Yay for victories great and small! :)
