Claire had her hearing tested today, and we got the results right away. We are told that she can hear high-pitched sounds but cannot hear low-pitched ones. As it turns out, voices are in the middle of the register, so it is unclear whether she can hear us when we talk to her.
Yet another challenge to overcome, but it doesn't change a single thing about sweet Claire. She is still the same little girl who loves to play with her apple, makes sweet noises when she is happy, and loves to snuggle.
And whether she can hear me or not, tonight I am going to do the same thing I do with her every night: She and I are going to climb into bed, cuddle close, and I'm going to read her "The Very Hungry Caterpillar."
