Show Off!

Claire had an opthalmologist appointment today, and surprisingly, she TRACKED for him! She hasn't tracked in weeks!

Leave it to my little girl to make it look like mommy is crying wolf!

The opthalmoligist said he saw nothing wrong with her eyes, but if she does have a cortical visual impairment, he didn't see any evidence of it at this time. Brad asked him what to make of the many, many times when Claire doesn't seem to track with her eyes, and he suggested she could be disinterested or disengaged as a result of sub-clinical seizure activity. Just as our neurosurgeon did, he suggested that if we can get the seizures under control, we may see improvement.

Operation seizure control, here we come!

(Speaking of which, today marks TWO WEEKS since Claire's last seizure!)

  1. I am so happy to hear that. What good news! I mentioned your last post to my husband, and he remembered Madeline being the same way when she was about that age. She has since gotten progressively more interested in things as time has gone on. Hopefully the same will be true for Claire.

  2. Congratulations on the 2 weeks! Our son has CVI and it is definitely related to seizure activity. His tracking ability is one of the first things to go when subclinical seizure activity is increasing. (There is nothing wrong with his eyes or optic nerves themselves.) I hope that Claire's positive ophtho appt is a sign of more good things to come. :) Best wishes!
