Supermodel of the World (and a Shameless Plug of Sorts)

Apologies for the shameless plug, but I am quite passionate when it comes to fundraising for a worthwhile cause!

Claire has her first modeling gig next month, and we couldn't be more excited. She will be strutting her stuff on the catwalk at FOCUS on Fashion, an annual fundraiser for FOCUS ("Families of Children Under Stress"), an organization that provides support and arranges activities for special needs families in the metro Atlanta area. We have really enjoyed being a part of FOCUS, and we are looking forward to becoming more engaged with the organization as Claire grows up. A few of the activities theyoffer include: summer camps, an annual trip to the Georgia Aquarium (complete with a private viewing of the fishies), a Zoo day, an annual home modification tour, monthly parent support groups, and respite services.

The fashion show is one of FOCUS's main fundraisers. It is sponsored by Belk's and stars the children that FOCUS serves, and the doctors, nurses, and therapists who care for them. Claire will be modeling with her Physical Therapist, Ms. Valerie, who has kindly agreed to participate even though the fashion show is on the same day as her son's birthday!

The show is scheduled for Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at the Georgia Shakespeare at Oglethorpe University on Peachtree Industrial. If you are interested in learning more about the even, you can click here.

Since the fashion show is a fundraiser, we are hoping you might be in a position to help support the organization. There are a couple of ways you can show your support:

• Purchasing a ticket to the show, then attending! Tickets are $25.00 and include the entry fee and catered hors d'oeuvres.




• Taking out an ad in the program book. Ads are $35.00 each for a business card size, $100.00 for a half-page, and$150.00 for a full page. You can use the space to advertise your business or to give a shout out to Claire (or both!). To meet printing deadlines, FOCUS has asked that commitments for all ads be made before October 14, 2011.
