Under a Blanket, Hiding from a Bumble Bee

This post is about exactly what its title says it's about. Last night, while Claire was napping on my chest, a bumblebee flew into our living room.

While Brad tried to kill it help it outside safely, Claire and I retreated to the master bedroom. Because the lights were on in the master bedroom, I pulled the covers over my head so she could continue sleeping peacefully.

It created a little tent, which reminded me of my childhood days spent building forts with sheets, blankets and pillows. I used to love building forts, especially ones that looked like tents, and line the inside with pillows.

I tried to take a few pictures to capture the dreamy feeling of being inside my own little tent with Claire, and to remember the occasion, but a photographer I am not, so the above picture was the best I could do.

P.S. I just love the way Claire puts her hand underneath my chin. She does this a lot when she sleeps on my chest, and it is just the sweetest thing.

  1. How about your "house" that you made with the discarded refrigerator box...complete with curtains, pillows, and anything else that you could fit in there.
