Weekend Update

This weekend was a busy one!  After a bite of BBQ on Friday, Brad, Claire and I woke up early to take in the Peachtree Road Farmers Market, followed by the Dogwood Festival in Piedmont Park.  To top the night off, we had dinner with some friends at Osteria 832.

The farmers market was great!  We bought the most delicious strawberries, as well as some bread from H&F Bread Company, some cheese from Greendale Farm, and a wooden cutting board from Doc's Woodturning that Brad had been pining over (lame pun totally intended) since last weekend.

Claire enjoying the strawberries we bought at the farmers market.  They were perfectly ripe and sooo sweet!

Picture of the cutting board and the Jalapeno Cheddar Croissant I bought from H&F Bread Co.  Not pictured:  The delicious Olive Bread, also from H&F Bread Co., that I had put away just moments earlier.

With our bellies full, having enjoyed our purchases from the farmers market, we headed to the Dogwood Festival.  The weather was perfect, and the crowds were not too bad at all.

(Photo from the Dogwood Festival Website--that's what happens when you are having such a good time that you forget to take pictures!)

We saw a lot of artwork that we loved.  With lots of great options, we had to be choiceful.  We ended up going with this one:

The artist was soo nice, and her paintings were really interesting.  We actually had our eye on another one, but when she mentioned that the inspiration for this painting came from one of her favorite books (that happens to be one of our favorites, too), we just had to have it.

Following the festival, we met our friends for dinner.  Good company, good food, a perfect way to end a perfect day!
